Wild Service Tree is a rare native species, valued for its wildlife benefits, attractive foliage and excellent autumn colour. White flowers appear in spring, followed by small brown fruits that provide a valuable food source for birds and mammals. Its leaves turn rich shades of orange and red in autumn, making it an attractive addition to woodland and landscape planting. It grows best on fertile, well drained soils in sunny or lightly shaded locations.
Plant Wild Service Tree into well prepared ground with good weed control during establishment. Water during prolonged dry periods, particularly in the first growing season. Suitable for woodland creation, conservation and biodiversity projects, it requires minimal maintenance once established beyond removing damaged branches where necessary.
