Elder is a fast growing native shrub, valued for its ornamental appeal and outstanding wildlife benefits. Large clusters of fragrant white flowers appear in early summer, followed by dark berries that provide an important food source for birds. Adaptable to most soil types, Elder grows well in sun or partial shade and is ideal for woodland creation, native hedgerows and habitat restoration projects.
