This vibrant willow brings year round interest, with bright golden stems providing striking colour throughout the winter months. Fast growing and well suited to moist soils, it is an excellent choice for waterside planting, wetland schemes and landscape projects. Its slender leaves have attractive silvery undersides, creating movement and texture through spring and summer before turning yellow in autumn. Regular coppicing encourages fresh, colourful stems and helps maintain a manageable size. Early spring catkins provide a valuable food source for pollinators, while the flexible shoots are also popular for traditional basketry.
