Rosa rugosa, commonly known as the Japanese Rose, is an incredibly tough, fast-growing shrub. It produces beautifully fragrant, large, open flowers ranging from deep pink to white, followed by giant, tomato-like red hips in autumn. Highly tolerant of coastal conditions, poor soils, and salt spray, it forms a dense, prickly barrier perfect for wildlife-friendly security hedging.
