Aspen is a fast growing native tree, well known for its rounded leaves that gently tremble in the breeze. It establishes quickly across a wide range of soils and is ideal for woodland creation, habitat restoration and shelter planting. Autumn foliage develops attractive golden tones, while the tree provides valuable habitat for insects, birds and mammals. Aspen performs best in full sun and adapts well to both rural and landscape settings.
Plant Aspen into weed free ground and maintain good weed control while roots establish. Water during extended dry periods in the first growing season where required. Suitable for woodland creation, shelter belts and habitat projects, Aspen requires minimal maintenance and can naturally regenerate through suckering, helping to create diverse woodland habitats.
