Native Black Poplar is one of Britain's rarest native trees and an important species for conservation planting. Fast growing and long lived, it thrives on moist soils, particularly beside rivers and floodplains. Its broad crown and distinctive foliage provide valuable habitat for birds, insects and other wildlife. Native Black Poplar is well suited to habitat restoration, woodland creation and environmental projects where preserving native species is a priority.
