The native Crab Apple (Malus sylvestris) is a fantastic addition to mixed hedges or planted as a standalone wildlife tree. It boasts clusters of pink-flushed white blossoms in spring that draw in countless bees and pollinators. In autumn, it produces small, tart yellow-green apples that can be used for delicious crab apple jelly or left on the tree to sustain birds through winter.
