Ligustrum ovalifolium, or Garden Privet, is a fast-growing, semi-evergreen shrub that creates a neat, dense, and formal hedge. It holds its lush green leaves through most winters, only dropping them in severe frosts. Highly pollution-tolerant, it is a staple of urban and suburban gardens, providing excellent privacy screening and nesting sites for small birds.
