How this product arrives

These are shipped as bare-root saplings, securely tied in bundles (example shown left). To ensure healthy growth, they are shipped without soil and will not arrive in leaf.

Italian Alder is a fast growing tree that establishes quickly and performs well on a wide range of soil types, including poorer ground. Its glossy green leaves remain on the tree well into autumn, providing an extended season of interest. Well suited to shelter belts, woodland creation and landscape planting, it also helps improve soil quality through nitrogen fixation. Italian Alder thrives in full sun or partial shade and is an excellent choice where rapid establishment is required.
