Green Beech is a classic native tree, valued for its elegant form, dense foliage and outstanding performance as a hedge or woodland species. Fresh green leaves emerge in spring before developing rich autumn colours, while hedges often retain leaves through winter to provide year round screening. Beech grows best on fertile, well drained soils and is ideal for woodland creation, formal hedging and landscape planting.
Plant Green Beech into well prepared, weed free ground and water during prolonged dry periods while establishing. Keep competing vegetation under control during the early years. For hedging, trim annually to maintain a dense structure and encourage bushy growth. Established trees require minimal maintenance beyond occasional pruning where needed.
